After our week in London, we enjoyed a week in Staithes, North Yorkshire...We spent our time exploring the area which featured a house (nearly) on the water
in a small fishing village, some incredible scenery, the North Yorks Moors National Park, a visit to York, Castle Howard (where they filmed Brideshead Revisited),
Bolton Castle, a visit to the Theakston Brewery in Masham, some great pubs and great food.

We drove thru the moors and visited Helmsley on the way to the Star Inn We met up with Jane's parents, Pete and Anne, and her brother Gordon,
and wife Cherith for a leasurely Sunday lunch at a small country pub near Helmsley.
We took a trip to York, a walled city founded by the Romans in 71 AD.
We visited three small seaside resort towns one sunny fall day, with Scarborough first, then
Robin Hoods Bay a picturesque tiny town on a hill as steep as Staithes and even
less parking if you can believe it!, and finally Whitby one of our favorite places
which is the landing place of Dracula as well as the name of one of our guest rooms at the inn
A visit to Masham, home of the Theakstons Brewery, makers of Old Peculier in the morning, Lunch
at the White Bear, one of our favorite Pubs in Yorkshire, a quick drive over to Bolton Castle in the afternoon,
and then we drove across the Moors to the Tan Hill, the 'Highest Pub in England'. Pics of Tan Hill are in the Pubs folder.
Check out these pics from a visit in 1995.
We spent a day at Castle Howard. It's where they filmed 'Brideshead Revisited' .
On our last day, we took a side trip to Stonehenge .
