Haltech E6K Installation overview
There are many components that need to be installed for the Haltech E6K to properly function.
These include:
--MAP Sensor (Provided)
--Coolant Temperature Sensor (Provided)
--Inlet Air Temperature Sensor (Provided)
--Throttle position Sensor (TPS) (Provided)
--Igniter / Ignition module (Optional)
--O2 Sensor (Optional/Extra)
--Relays (Included)
--E6K control Unit (ECU)
Some Stock components can be used, and I chose to use some of the Toyota components and sensors.
--The stock distributor works fine as a trigger rather than a crank trigger.
--The stock TPS (the E6k provides a calibration method)
--Stock coolant temp sensor
--Stock Coil and Igniter
This overview reflects use of the above items.
You also remove some components as well.
The factory AFM is tossed. You need to fabricate a pipe of some kind, and add a large air filter in it's place.
I fabbed up a neat replacement pipe, and used a 3" K&N Filter (pics coming soon)
GENERAL INSTALLATION
I decided that I wanted to place the ECU in the trunk and fabricated a bracket to hold the ECU, the fuse block, and the relays.
(COMING SOON)
NOTE THE FOLLOWING EXCEPTIONS!
I wired mine for Sequential injection, which uses the two additional digital outputs of the Haltech.
I use a J&S Knock Detector. The J&S is wired in between the Haltech and the Distributor.
I used the stock Coil and Igniter and coolant sensor. This changes what wires you need to use from Haltech.
BASIC INSTALLATION OVERVIEW
How to install and wire the following:
Air Inlet Sensor
Coolant Temp Sensor
Throttle position Sensor (TPS)
Distributor
MAP Sensor
Igniter
O2 Sensor
